One week until ComicCon!
I’ve just been looking at the programming schedule. Lots of goodness. One downer: the Fururama panel overlaps the Kevin Smith talk, so I guess I’m going to have to choose one over the other.
Things From Another World has a “nick and dent” sale going on. Lots of good stuff at 50% off. I just bought 4 Crossgen TPBs — the first two volumes each of Scion and Sojourn. They look fine; better, in general, than you’d see on the shelf at a bookstore. I’m going to try to avoid buying anthing else, though. My stack of unread books is about a foot and a half high right now.
Funky Winkerbean follow-up:
And here’s a little article from the Kansas City Star.
This thread at CBR seems to confirm that Byrne is ghosting Funky Winkerbean.
Funky Winkerbean started a new storyline a couple of weeks ago. It’s pretty neat. I’ve noticed the art has been showing a serious John Byrne influence, and I’ve been wondering if it’s just coincidence, or if it’s on purpose, or if maybe Byrne is assisting Batiuk, or something like that. Well, today’s strip actually had a reference to Byrne, so I guess maybe there is some connection. Either way, the strip looks nice and reads well.
I just recently noticed that the Seattle Post-Intelligencer has a really good comics page.
I just made all my reservations for ComicCon 2003. I can’t wait!
Another great Sinfest today.
