New version of #develop out today. I couldn’t believe how nice this was when I first starting playing around with it. Open source stuff usually isn’t this good. I’ve switched over to Visual Studio for the C# stuff we do at work, but I never wouldn’t really gotten started with C# without #develop.
bacon
Sizzling second annual Bacon Show — I actually gave up bacon for a while. I still (mostly) avoid it, but every once in a while, I succumb…
Wesley Willis
Wesley Willis died yesterday.
Final Fantasy VII
I’ve been back on a bit of a PlayStation kick for the last week or so. I picked up Final Fantasy VII again and picked where I left off, which is probably about halfway through the game. I hadn’t played in quite some time, but I still seem to know what all the buttons do. I got a little curious tonight about when exactly I started this game. I went back through all my old blogs and found out: I started playing on January 23, 2002, or thereabouts. So that’s more than a year and a half, and I’m still not done. Looks like I’ll be finished around December 2004 at this rate. Oh yeah, the play time indicator on the save screen says I’ve got a little over 30 hours in. Man, am I getting my $20 worth out of this game. And I’ve got FF 8, 9, and 10 sitting on the shelf for when I’ve finished this one!
Robert Randolph
If you haven’t heard Robert Randolph, go listen. He’s good. The single from the new album is OK, but look for his live stuff. You can find some live MP3’s on his site.
worms
Yet another day dealing with the Blaster worm, mostly. Meanwhile, my brother is getting better. And I’m spending my spare time playing SSX Tricky. I’ll never be this good though.
Worm
I spent most of the day today dealing with the Blaster Worm. Man, that was annoying.
Kaiju Big Battel
Kaiju Big Battel — I really need to catch this at some point. Next time they’re in New York…
San Diego
I just noticed that Mile High Comics has a bunch of pictures from San Diego up on their web site, including a nice picture of the mile-long line to get in on Saturday. (Always buy advance tickets, unless you like waiting in line for many hours!) I’ve been looking around for a reliable total attendance figure for Comic-Con this year, but I haven’t found one. I heard 65,000 from one guy, but that was probably just a guess. CBR says maybe 70 to 80,000. (More here.)
For comparison, SIGGRAPH 2003, also in San Diego, had about 27,000, according to SignOnSanDiego. And the big Phish shindig in Maine last week, at Loring Air Force Base, hit around 60,000, according to the NY Times.
Oh, and hey, you wanna buy about 10 hours of Phish for $30? Click here. Downloading it all would be a hassle, of course.
Princess Blade
Potentially worthwhile movie: Princess Blade. Film Threat review here.
