Fantastic Four

Lately, I’ve been thinking about starting to collect low-grade Silver Age comics. I’ve tentatively decided to start with Fantastic Four 51-100. These are all key issues, mostly (all?) by Stan and Jack, and they’re still affordable in lower grades. I figure I’ll pick up a few on eBay, then maybe some more in San Diego this year.

Yahoo Knows Best

Yahoo Knows Best, Resets Users’ Marketing Prefs

This kind of thing is very annoying. If they’d sent out a notice saying they were going to do it, it wouldn’t be so bad, but it really sucks that I had to find out about this at slashdot, and not directly from Yahoo.

blog archive

I added a blog archive page today. See the link to the left. I’ve been blogging since June 2001 now, averaging just a few posts a month. That really seems like enough, though, doesn’t it? I really don’t do interesting things, or have interesting thoughts, every day.

Domain Name Follies

Well, I just went through the paperwork to transfer my domain to DNS Central. I will also soon be switching to the GeoCities $5/month account, so I will have FTP access and remote loading capability. Long story, pretty boring. The end result is that I don’t like any of the other free web providers, and I’m leery of the various other low-cost hosting services. Some of them look pretty cheesy. Hopefully, Yahoo/GeoCities will continue to work well. And the $5/month will get rid of the annoying ads on this page! Yay!

Rob Hanes Adventures

Just finished reading issues 1-4 of Rob Hanes Adventures. Good stuff, reminiscent of Milton Caniff or Alex Toth. A web site I was looking at a while ago described it as “Jonny Quest, all grown up and packing heat.” Fair enough. Published by WCG Comics. Their web site seems to be done right now, unfortunately.
