It looks like I will be doing the Light The Night Walk on October 10 with Heather and whoever else shows up. My donations page is here, and Heather’s is here.

My iBook
I’m spending a lot of time tonight on upgrades. I just upgraded my iBook to OS X 10.3.5. I also realized that I hadn’t updated the virus definitions on this thing since October 2003. That doesn’t seem possible, but apparently it’s true. Man, I have to update the virus defs on my PC about three times a week, just to keep the wolves at bay, so to speak. You gotta love the Mac — no spyware problems, hardly any virus/worm problems, easy OS updates that don’t break anything. If only I could toss my PC. I guess I could, if I didn’t make my living programming for and supporting PCs. Oh well.
Windows XP Service Pack 2
I applied SP 2 to my home machine today. So far, no problems. I spent a lot of time at work testing it and reading up on it over the last couple of weeks. Given all the press it’s gotten, I kind of expected something more drastic.
iPod vs. The Cassette
iPod vs. The Cassette: The cassette wins, of course.
No More Palm.Net
Palm.Net to cease 31 August: I discontinued my Palm.Net account some time ago, but I still have my Palm i705. I guess the antenna is officially useless now. Oh well. The web service on my cell phone is pretty bad. Time to switch to a Treo 600 maybe?
Honor Patrick’s Memory
Heather has a nice page up on ways to Honor Patrick’s Memory. I watched Project A last week, so I’ve got one point covered, at least.
Avengers Assemble!
One of the many interesting facts in the Marvel Super Heroes’ Guide to New York City: The Frick Museum is Avengers Mansion!
Bryant Park
