new iBook

My new iBook showed up today! So far, so good. Migrating information from the old iBook was really easy, using Tiger’s Migration Assistant. It took about an hour over FireWire. Now, I’m letting it run Software Update. That looks like it’ll take another hour or so. When all is said and done, I should have an iBook much like my old one, only with a bigger screen, faster processor, bigger hard drive, etc, etc. Much less hassle than I’d have migrating a Windows machine.

I’m so mainstream

I just bought the new CDs from The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, and Coheed and Cambria. Okay, the last one isn’t quite as mainstream as the first two, but it’s still way more mainstream than some of the other stuff I’ve been listening to lately!

NeoMem

Neomem looks like a really neat little organizer. I played around with it a bit yesterday. I’d probably switch to it over my current organizer, Vault, if only there was a keyboard shortcut to paste the current date & time into a note. That’s a must-have for me. It’s open-source, though, so maybe I can figure out how to add that feature myself.

spending money

My new mattress is mighty comfy. Definitely worth the money.

I ordered a new iBook today. Basically, the current standard 14″ model, with the RAM upped to 1 GB. I’m getting almost $500 for my old one, which pays for a bit under half the new one. Good deal.

Mattress shopping

As I sit here waiting for my new mattress to be delivered, I thought I’d check out the Wikipedia article on mattresses. Really, I should have checked this *before* buying a mattress, but heck, I think I made a good choice anyway. I guess I’ll find out after I sleep on it tonight.

The wikipedia article recommends spending about 10 minutes on the mattress in the store before committing to it; I’ve seen other articles recommend an hour. I just can’t imagine spending more than a minute or two on a mattress in the store, though. Anything more would just seem creepy.
