Spam

Spam is getting to be a big problem at work, so I’ve been spending some spare time looking into various spam-filtering solutions. The stuff I’m looking at for work is, of course, server-oriented software. For home use, though, I’ve been looking at a few things that get between your e-mail client and POP server. I just downloaded K9 and installed it for use with Eudora. I won’t know how good it works until I’ve been using it for a week or two, but hey, it’s free, so it’s gotta be worth a try.

TFAW

Things From Another World has a “nick and dent” sale going on. Lots of good stuff at 50% off. I just bought 4 Crossgen TPBs — the first two volumes each of Scion and Sojourn. They look fine; better, in general, than you’d see on the shelf at a bookstore. I’m going to try to avoid buying anthing else, though. My stack of unread books is about a foot and a half high right now.

Dave Gahan

You can listen to all of Dave Gahan’s new album at his web site, through a little Flash applet. It’s pretty good. Maybe I’ll pick it up from Apple’s music store, if it finds its way there. Or I could just capture the stream from the Flash applet with Ace-High on my PC, but that would be cheating.

Meanwhile, Is this the end of Netscape? Does it matter? How did they get through this article without once mentioning Mozilla?
