I got tired of trying to back up my 80 GB hard drive to 15 GB tapes today, so I ran out and bough a 120GB Maxtor OneTouch. Much faster and easier.

good books
Evangelion
I just finished watching the last three episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Good golly, that was weird. I’m going to have to pick up the movies now, and see how they portray the end of the story.
LoTR
The Very Secret Diaries of various Lord of the Rings characters. Very funny.
sci-fi movies
THere’s a nice series of sci-fi movies coming up at the Walter Reade Theater. And, yep, I’ve got a cold. Hopefully, it’ll be gone by Christmas.
headache
Urk. I’m getting a runny nose and a headache. I better not be getting a cold just 4 days before Christmas!
PHP
Check out phpmac.com for information on running PHP on a Mac.
I’ve just started playing around with PHP a bit, since there’s a chance we’ll need to do something with it at work. Everything else we’re doing is ASP.NET, but we’re outsourucing something that’s liable to be done in PHP. As usual, I’ll probably end up supporting it after it’s delivered. I’ve got nothing against PHP, but it sure would be nice if I didn’t have to learn yet another scripting language!
Galactica
Slashdot | New Battlestar Galactica – Worth a Series?
I actually liked the new Galactica. As an ongoing series, I could see it going either way — either falling into cliche and gimmick quickly, or maintaining an interesting storyline with evolving, complex, characters. Who knows?
a long day
It’s been a long day — my neighbor’s alarm clock went off at 5:45am this morning, and he left it going (on a classic rock station) for about a half-hour, so I couldn’t get back to sleep. I managed to get a few things done today, including my homework. I also made a nice big pot of chili.
X-Men
Claremont, Davis reunite on Uncanny X-Men — Wow, I haven’t read an X-Men comic in years, but I love Alan Davis and I’ve got a lot of respect for Claremont. Could be good.
