Lord of the Rings

Here’s a strange idea I just had: spend the rest of the day watching the LoTR extended edition DVDs. If I start now, I’ll be done right around 1am. I’m not sure I can sit on the couch that long, though.

The Best Films of the Year

It’s nice to see that Tokyo Godfathers made A.O. Scott’s Best Films of the Year list. It’s probably my favorite film of the year, although I think I first saw it in 2003.

Led Zeppelin: The Complete Studio Recordings

Only $59.90 from yourmusic.com. $116.99 from Amazon. Not available at all on iTunes. Tempting. I could toss out all my old Lep Zep cassettes, and legally own all the old albums on CD.

Local Blog

There’s a bunch of local Somerset County stuff in this guy’s blog. I never really thought to look for local blogs, but there are probably a few more out there.

Somerville Stuff

There’s some interesting historical stuff in this PDF file at the Somerville web site. Apparently, the police department used to be a beer distribution warehouse, and the fire house on Division St. has been there since 1896.

Robosapien

The guys at work gave me a Robosapien for Christmas. It’s pretty cool, but I haven’t taught it to kill yet.

Actually, I’d really like to teach it to behave like Bender!

WXPN

XPN’s 885 greatest songs. There’s some interesting stuff in there, amongst the more obvious entries.

Hear N Aid

Going through some old casettes today, I happened upon my copy of Hear N Aid. Now that they’ve created a new version of “Do They Know It’s Christmas?”, isn’t it time for a new version of “Stars”? I’m certain it is.
