Dave Gahan
You can listen to all of Dave Gahan’s new album at his web site, through a little Flash applet. It’s pretty good. Maybe I’ll pick it up from Apple’s music store, if it finds its way there. Or I could just capture the stream from the Flash applet with Ace-High on my PC, but that would be cheating.
Meanwhile, Is this the end of Netscape? Does it matter? How did they get through this article without once mentioning Mozilla?
Burn, Baby, Burn
I’ve got my 52x CD writer working at 48x now, which is much better than the 16x it was originally doing. I think the trick was to not let Nero try to figure out the max speed, but just let it go. And just for yuks, I typed “burn baby burn” into Google, and found this year-old article from Time. The song remains the same.
Emusic
It looks like EMusic just added the catalog of the Beggars Group, which means that they now have a bunch of stuff from Badly Drawn Boy, The Cocteau Twins, The Pixies, and a bunch more. Good thing I’ve got a big pile of CD-R’s handy.

Manga Makes Bestselling Adult Trade Fiction List
Chobits Volume 5 was at #35 on BookScan’s Adult Trade Fiction list for the week ending April 20, the only graphic novel on the general list. I’m actually reading this book right now. I’m hooked on the Chobits series, both the manga and the anime.

Apple’s New Online Music Service
“Now Mr. Jobs and his team have taken another dysfunctional, user-hostile product and bashed the ugliness out of it: the downloadable-music service.”
