More on Frank Thorne from www.lambiek.net, an “antiquarian comic shop” in Amsterdam.
Illustrated History of Union County
I noticed something interesting in the Westfield catalog this month: An Illustrated History of Union County, by Frank Thorne. There are some sample pages here. Based on this message, it appears that this strip was originally published in the Daily Journal back in 1951. As a former Union County resident, and Frank Thorne fan, I think I’ll need to pick this up. Actually, I may need to pick up a few copies and send them off to other former Union County residents, too.
Wizard World Philly
I went to Wizard World Philly today. I spent a few bucks on comics, went to a JMS Q&A, and the “Cup ‘o Joe” panel with Joe Quesada. Very entertaining. The con was crowded, but not annoyingly so. Plenty of room to move around, and no problem getting into the panels.
COHEED AND CAMBRIA
Wow. I was just checking out the web site for Coheed And Cambria, and they’ve got a note up that they’re going to have a booth at Comic-Con. And they’re playing two shows in S.D. during the con. That’s just too cool.
EverNote
EverNote — another interesting little note-taking application. Currently in beta. Looks like it might be better than OneNote, in some ways.
Streamload
www.streamload.com — looks interesting. I need to look at this more closely at some point.
Skype Stuff
RadioTime
RadioTime: looks like an interesting thing. Maybe a way to listen to oddball stuff like Jonesy’s Jukebox and New Sounds in the car?
Star Wars
I went to see Revenge of the Sith yesterday morning. I couldn’t quite bring myself to go to the midnight showing Wednesday night. I’m just getting too old for that. I did enjoy the movie, and it was a good crowd. I went to the Ziegfeld in NYC. Lots of enthusiastic folks in costume, kids with toy lightsabers, and the usual contingent of NYC weirdos.
IOGEAR KVM
Would this be a good KVM to use with a Mac Mini?
