fraud

I found out today that someone has been using my AmEx card number. They’ve used it for airline tickets, FedEx shipping, and opening up a couple of accounts for online dating sites, I think. AmEx identified the suspicious activity and called me, which is nice. I’ll have a new card in a week or so.

I think this was limited to just the AmEx card, and isn’t a full-blown case of identity theft. At least I hope so!

Illustrated History of Union County

I noticed something interesting in the Westfield catalog this month: An Illustrated History of Union County, by Frank Thorne. There are some sample pages here. Based on this message, it appears that this strip was originally published in the Daily Journal back in 1951. As a former Union County resident, and Frank Thorne fan, I think I’ll need to pick this up. Actually, I may need to pick up a few copies and send them off to other former Union County residents, too.

Things From Another World has a “nick and dent” sale going on. Lots of good stuff at 50% off. I just bought 4 Crossgen TPBs — the first two volumes each of Scion and Sojourn. They look fine; better, in general, than you’d see on the shelf at a bookstore. I’m going to try to avoid buying anthing else, though. My stack of unread books is about a foot and a half high right now.
